Timothy Matandika
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)
Timothy Matandika was born on February 4, 1987 at Madisi, in Dowa District. He is the sixth of seven children born to Rev. and Mrs. Rodger Matandika. He holds a Junior Certificate of Education from Robert Blake Secondary School, and a Malawi School Certificate of Education from Kaphuka Private Secondary School.
Even though he had grown up in a Christian family and heard the Gospel repeatedly, Timothy didn't really understand the Gospel until he heard it during a crusade at Robert Blake Secondary School, while he was in "Form Two." He vividly recalls the preacher’s sermon, which was titled "Restoration and Repentance." The Gospel truly appealed to him for the first time. He surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and felt like a brand new person. Since that time, God has been using him to share the Gospel with many of his friends and to encourage them to receive Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
His involvement in organized ministry started when he worked with his brother, Fletcher, at Ministry of Hope, where he used to teach and do sporting activities with orphan children. In 2007 he worked with Joy to the World Ministries as a teacher and in Sports Ministry. At the moment, Timothy is helping to organize the 2009 Chosen Generation Missions Conference.
