Stephen Roberts
"But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. (Acts 20:24)
Stephen was rescued by the sovereign hand of God in the summer prior to high school. Since that time, his hope has been that God's mercy in Christ would be displayed in his weakness (1 Timothy 1:15) and that God's unchained Word would go forth despite his own shackles (2 Timothy 2:8-10). He graduated from Calvin College in 2005 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Religion.
God redirected Stephen's path and brought him to Westminster Seminary California, where he graduated with a Masters in Divinity in 2008. During his time at WSC, Stephen twice went to Malawi. He first led a group from New Life Presbyterian Church at Fletcher's behest and fell in love with Malawi. A year later, he led a team of fellow seminarians to a theological school in Nkhoma, Malawi, where they taught the full range of seminary courses to future pastors.
Since graduating, Stephen has spent time in politics, working with the National Center for Public Policy Research and writing freelance articles for the Washington Times. He is currently in training as a chaplain with the US Army Reserves at Ft. Jackson. On May 2nd, he will marry his lovely fiancée, Lindsey. In coming years, he hopes to be a pastor as well as an Army chaplain, and he also hopes to return many times to teach in Malawi.
