Stephanie Smith
"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed", says the Lord, who has compassion on you." (Isaiah 54:10)
Stephanie was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Go Steelers!) with her two younger sisters Darcy and Jamie, and her parents Ralph and Wendy. She just graduated from Furman University, located in Greenville, South Carolina, where she received her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and was on the varsity volleyball team.
She grew up in the church, but it was during the summer after her freshman year of college that she truly understood Jesus' significance in her life and the sacrifice He made for her. Since then she has been actively pursuing a deeper relationship with Christ and trying to walk in His footsteps in her day-to-day life.
She was first introduced to Joy to the World Ministries during the summer of 2008 when she spent 5 weeks in Malawi as a part of the New Wilmington Mission Conference's Summer Service team. She is currently serving a one year commitment with Joy to The World in Dzuwa, Malawi working with the Education Department specifically on the Feeding and Cultivation projects, as well as teaching at Dzuwa Primary School.
