The Annual "Chosen Generation" Missions Conference

Each summer, Joy to the World Ministries organizes the "Chosen Generation" Missions Conference, the aim of which is to encourage Africans to take the "Whole Gospel to the Whole Man and to the Whole World".

For information about this summer's "Chosen Generation" conference, and previous years' conferences, click the links below:

    • 2012: "Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread"

At this conference, we discussed the deep theological truths about Christ and His sufficiency in all things and to deal with the practical realities affecting the global church today like the prosperity gospel which is no gospel at all! Africa and the world have been plagued by the prosperity gospel! May God use this conference to purge Malawi and the world of this cruel and heinous deception which is killing many people softly and sending them to hell unawares by keeping them from seeing "the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God" (2 Cor. 4:4).

    • 2011: "Thy Will Be Done"

The Lord Jesus Christ is the Only perfect human embodiment of God’s Will. He alone can give you and me the power to follow God’s will in our own lives. The Scriptures tell us that "...He was tempted in every way – just as we are, yet without sin," and that He obeyed God the Father “to the point of death even death on a cross.” (Hebrews 4:15; Philippians 2:8). I pray that each of us will be bound up in His life by faith, as we humbly join our hearts together under God’s grace and as we seek to know and do God’s will.

    • 2010: "Thy Kingdom Come"

The Kingdom of God was central to Jesus’ ministry. Throughout His life, He taught about the Kingdom of God, He lived for the Kingdom of God, He sought to bring others into the Kingdom of God, and He eventually died on the Cross in allegiance to the Kingdom of God and its redemptive agenda, namely to save His people from their sins to the glory of God. The Lord Jesus Christ expects nothing less from us. He desires that we embrace the centrality of the Kingdom in our lives, and especially in our prayers.

    • 2009: "Hallowed Be Thy Name"

As He was being tried by Pontius Pilate, the Lord Jesus Christ said, "My Kingdom is not of this world. If My Kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but it is, My Kingdom is not of this realm" (John 18:36). The mission and work of God in the world in not advanced by military power or supported by taxes. Rather, the Kingdom of God and His cause in this world is advanced and supported by the faithful preaching of His Gospel and the faithful prayers of His people. The first petition that we find in the prayer that the Lord Jesus Christ taught us is "Hallowed be Thy Name." This is the first thing that is to be on our minds, hearts and lips when we pray and when we think of God’s Name. Our desire and prayer must first and foremost be that God’s Name will be "Hallowed" in all the earth.

    • 2008: "Chosen to Proclaim"

The theme of the conference was "Chosen to Proclaim" taken out of 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light." A passionate and personal plea was given out to all who were in attendance to embrace the call of God upon all of our lives, namely, "to proclaim the excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvellous light." The Lord says in Malachi 1:11, "For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will e great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts." Every delegate left the conference with a strong sense of call to give themselves to the work of making God's Name great among the nations for this is indeed the call and essence of missions.
