Fletcher Matandika

"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me." (1 Corinthians 15:10)

Fletcher was born and raised in Malawi. His father, Rev. R.A. Matandika, is a Minister in the Nkhoma Synod of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP). Fletcher graduated from the African Bible College (www.africanbiblecolleges.org) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies and a Minor in Communications in 2002. In April of 1999, when he was in his second year of college, he responded to God's call upon his life and founded the Ministry of Hope (www.ministryofhope.org), a Christian ministry that cares for over 3,000 orphan children. Fletcher graduated from Westminster Seminary in California (www.wscal.edu), where he earned a Master of Divinity degree.

Fletcher is also the Founder & President of Joy to the World Ministries, Inc., an organization that promotes Christian missions in Malawi, Africa and around the world. Some of Fletcher's hobbies include: reading theological books, writing, hiking, going on road trips, jet skiing, spending time with friends and family, and doing anything adventurous. Fletcher is currently serving as the pastor of the New Westminster Chapel (www.newwestminsterchapel.org), a congregation of the Associated Presbyterian Church (www.apchurches.org).

Fletcher's greatest passion is to see men and women all over the world come to experience the wonder, beauty and depth of God's grace as they come to know their need for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. His desire is to be an ambassador of the Lord Jesus Christ, calling men and women all over the world to come to Christ in faith and repentance in order that they may be reconciled to God. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5:20-21, "Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." In Malachi 1:11, the Lord Himself says, "For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the LORD of hosts." These portions of Scripture (among others) guide and inform Fletcher's passion for world missions.
