Ally van den Herik
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21)
Ally van den Herik was born and raised in San Diego, California, and she currently resides in Poway, a suburb of northern San Diego. Ally earned a B.S. in Biology from Stanford University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
Ally was a teacher at a private school in La Jolla, California for five years, and most recently, worked for five years as Web Manager and Channel Sales Manager for Websense, an Internet security company. In addition to hanging out with her husband, four-year-old son, and two-year-old daughter, Ally enjoys digital photography, Web design and programming, and studying God's Word. Ally has recently written a book called The Shortest Leap: The Rational Underpinnings of Faith in Jesus, which summarizes the scientific, historical and biblical evidence supporting the truth of the Christian faith.
Ally is excited to be a part of Joy to the World Ministries, where she is able to apply her computer skills in a way that benefits people of low-income areas in Malawi and—eventually— throughout the world.
